Montreal, October 27, 2011 – The Conference of Rectors and Principals of Quebec Universities (CREPUQ) is pleased to salute the recipients of the 2011 Forces AVENIR Awards. These outstanding students, whose remarkable achievements benefit their communities, serve as role models for creativity and solidarity in Quebec.
The Forces AVENIR Awards recognize, honour and promote active, responsible university students whose commitment to their studies and their communities is a source of motivation for all young people.
“University rectors and principals are proud to celebrate these passionate, energetic students who have shown such leadership and civic engagement in their projects, here and elsewhere. Their involvement, sense of innovation and vision of a better world are an eloquent testament to the excellence and commitment of students at Quebec universities,” said Denis Brière, Chair of the CREPUQ Board of Directors and Rector of Université Laval.
“Knowledge contributes significantly to Quebec’s social and cultural development, its economic prosperity and its influence around the world. We trust the award-winners will continue using the knowledge and skills they have acquired at university to serve others and inspire young people to succeed, outdo themselves and develop a strong sense of civic duty,” added Daniel Zizian, President and Director General of CREPUQ.
