National Assembly salutes Journées du Savoir

Montreal, November 4, 2009 — The Conference of Rectors and Principals of Quebec Universities (CREPUQ) was delighted with the declaration read today before the National Assembly by Michel Pigeon, Parliamentary Assistant to Michelle Courchesne, Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports, in recognition of Journées du Savoir.

“I salute this initiative by the Conference of Rectors and Principals of Quebec Universities, some of whose members are with us today. More than 50 activities will be held across Quebec to increase awareness among the general public of the importance of education and institutions of higher learning in our economic, social and cultural development, as well as in extending our international influence,” said Michel Pigeon.

“I invite everyone to experience the excellent quality of our university system by taking part in the various activities – in particular the public lectures and guided tours – organized by the universities during Journées du savoir,” concluded Mr. Pigeon.
